Hey Guys! Have you seen the cute gingerbread house that the Doodlebug Design Christmas Magic collection has? From the first moment I saw it I knew that I wanted to do a layout featuring this cute little house, so I thought on using the Cookie Cottage doodle-popsTM, but even though it looked really cute, I wanted something bigger so it could cover more space in my layout. After thinking about some ideas, I decided to replicate the same house a do it on a bigger scale.
To do that, I pulled out some of my doodlebug cardstock and choose the cinnamon one from the Primary Cardstock Assortment to create my house. I drew each part with a pencil and then punch holes around some of the base pieces to add hand-stitching. For the other parts that didn’t need stitching, I use foam dots to stick them.
To embellish the house, I used some pieces from the Odds&EndsTM pack, cut the white border that they come with, and added some clear embossing powder to them so they could look more like real candies. I also fussy cut some elements from some of the 12 x 12” papers.
Once I finished the house, I created a scene on my page using the elements from before. In addition, I also added a Christmas tree and some other fun embellishments with the idea of building my own Santa’s Village.
Finally, I added my photos with some foam adhesive, the journaling at the bottom right side of the page, and some Chit ChatTM pieces for the title.
Even though this layout took a lot of time to create, well, actually the little house was the one that used most of the time, I had so much fun creating it, and I really liked how it turned out! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Also, don’t forget that if you have any questions just leave me a comment or send me an email. I’ll be really happy to help you.
